On Wednesday morning (April 3), about 7:58 am local time, Taiwan experienced an earthquake. The quake measured 7.4 on the Richter scale.
The quake was centered in the Hualien County on the East coast of Taiwan.
A tsunami warning was issued for Japan but the tsunami was not experienced.
Rescue efforts are ongoing.
