Book Review: The War That Saved My Life

Review by Samaira Dewan

Genre: Historical Fiction

Ada has a deformed foot and can’t walk properly, because of that her ‘Mother’ hid her from the rest of the world.

When the war reaches her home all the children are sent out to other homes till it ends. Luckily, that includes Ada and her brother, Jaime. They find a home with Mrs. Smith and it’s better than they could hope for. They have good food, a good home and, for the first time, a few friends. But that could all go away in a blink of an eye.

I really liked the book and its characters. My favourite one was Mrs. Smith. She was smart and, once you get to know her, you come to know that she is nice too. My second favourite character was Jaime. He was a kid, said what he thought and pretty curios. I also liked the descriptions and the plot. The book was pretty good and I would recommend it to anyone of any age, anywhere.

Happy Reading 🙂
