During the CCP meeting, Xi Jinping chose his supporters to fill in the country’s leadership positions. The group of his strong supporters is known as the Politburo Standing Committee which was established in 1928.

The main agenda of the committee is to make sure that the rules of the constitution of China are being followed. It also controls the state’s problems and appoints or removes official members from government positions.

In 2018, China’s National People’s Congress approved the change in one of the rules. Now, presidential candidates can become China’s president for more than two terms. With reference to this rule, Xi Jinping has been re-elected for the third time as President of China.

The previous leaders of the CCP withdrew from the position of the Communist Party’s president after 10 years, but Xi Jinping will not only continue to be leader of CCP, but also the president of China. Xi Jinping also bears other designations such as general secretary of CCP and the chairman of the Central Military Commission.

Xi Jinping’s plans for the future of China include improving China’s business issues and ideas such as China’s “Zero Covid” plan. As part of the “Zero Covid” scheme, the area has to go into lockdown as soon as Covid cases appear. There has been some public protest against this rule, but in China, the concept of public opinion and public protest is one of mild expression. No change is possible through public opinion.
