The WHO Foundation is an independent grant making (supporting a cause by donations) agency founded by Professor Thomas Zeltner. It is headquartered in Geneva and was launched in May 2020 to work alongside WHO in dealing with urgent health concerns. It has appointed Anil Soni as its inaugural (first) Chief Executive Officer, effective from 1st Jan 2021.
Anil Soni brings 20 years of experience from public, private, and non-profit sectors. Mr. Soni will join the Foundation from Viatris, where he is the Head of Global Infectious Diseases.
