A super computer is a massive computer that is capable of doing a lot more processing than a normal computer.
Think of it as thousands of computers working together.
The processing power of a super computer is measured in PetaFLOPS or PFLOPS.
Peta means 10 ^ 15, also known as a hundred quadrillions.
FLOPS stands for Floating Point Operations Per Second. Think of it as a single transaction.
So, simply put, the power of a super computer is measured in how many hundred quadrillion calculations it can do per second.
As of January 2022, Japan’s Fugaku exascale system is the worlds most powerful super computer, with a processing power of 442PFLOPS.
