The civic body of an area is the organisation responsible for maintaining citizen facilities like roads, sanitation, etc.
In a village, it is the Panchayat.
In a small town, it is the municipality.
In a large city, it can be one or more Municipal Corporations.
For example, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru all have more than one municipal corporation.
