First air safari launched in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, MP
Madhya Pradesh Forest Minister, Vijay Shah launched India’s first hot air balloon wildlife safari in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Umaria, MP. This activity would be limited to the buffer area (area surrounding or adjoining the core area where nature is conserved alongside compatible human uses of land and water), where people would be able to view tigers, leopards, and other wild animals from a height. This would be a new adventurous attraction for the wildlife reserve visitors while being ecologically non-intrusive. The state is planning to introduce similar services in Pench, Kanha and Panna Tiger reserves also.
Bandhavgarh National Park is a biodiversity park known for its large population of Bengal tigers. It is based towards the north of ancient Bandhavgarh Fort, thus getting its name.
