Bridges are built for vehicles and people to cross over, but imagine a bridge that is made especially for reptiles to cross over a jungle road! The Uttarakhand Forest Department constructed a unique elevated eco-bridge for reptiles to cross the busy jungle road without getting hit by vehicles. This was built across the Kaladhungi-Nainital highway in just 10 days.
The Eco Bridge is 90-ft long and 5-ft wide, is made from bamboo, rope, and grass. It can take the weight of three adult humans. In order to attract reptiles and other small animals to the bridge, creepers will be grown on it, and it will be layered with grass and leaves.
