Typhoon Hinnamnor

It shows the progress of typhoon Hinnamnor from September 1 to date.

This typhoon has:

A. Swallowed another tropical storm

B. Affected Korea, and Japan

C. Is now on its way to South China.

It is also being recorded as the biggest typhoon recorded in 2022. It is understood to be a Category 5 super hurricane.

Korea

In Korea, people were evacuated and flights cancelled. No fishing boats were allowed to ply. Korea experienced 36 inches of rain as the typhoon entered. 20,000 houses in South Korea were left without electricity. Wind speed peaked at 155 kmph. The typhoon has been causing rains and flooding since Sunday. All schools in the southern part of South Korea will work online.

Japan

In Japan, Okinawa islands and Kyushu were the most affected. Okinawa’s Miyakojima and Ishigaki cities advised residents to evacuate to shelters.

Flights and ferries were cancelled.

The top wind speed recorded in Japan was about 148 kmph.

China

As of September 5th, China’s warning level for Hinnamnor was yellow on a scale of red(most severed) – orange – yellow – blue.

Cities in Eastern China have suspended ferry services.
