The Story of the Painter

Once, there was a painter who loved his craft very much.
One day, he painted a landscape and left it on the market square, with a note – “I am a beginner. This is my painting. If you find a mistake, please mark it with the pen kept here.”

He came back in the evening to find his painting crisscrossed with marks and mistakes pointed out. He was very disheartened. He went to his master and explained what had happened.

“Perhaps, I will never be a good painter. This was my best work yet, and see how wrong it was!”
The master asked the boy to paint the same landscape one more time. This time, he went with the boy to the market square, placed the painting there and wrote the note “I am a young painter. This is my first painting. If you find a mistake, please correct it using the brush and paint placed
alongside.”

That evening, he came back to find only notes of appreciation.
