The Children’s Post Word of the Year 2023 is

On 9th December, we started the process to select our Word of the Year 2023.

The process was a simple poll on our Facebook and Whatsapp groups, and a post on this website.

Somewhere in the middle, we had a hacking episode and for a while, we were derailed.

This year, three words came really close in the reader polls.

So, while we are announcing a clear winner, the other two also merit a mention. They are very interesting words.

The clear winner was ChatGPT. This solution was launched to the public in November 2022. Since then, it has taken the world by storm. From travel itineraries to sales letters, Chat GPT does everything!

This AI engine clearly has caught the world’s fancy this year. We think it is befitting that this should be our Word of the Year.

BUT, two other words were voted near the top of the list, and we want to share those too.

The word that got the second highest votes was:

The next highest votes went to the word Bharat. Just as Japan calls itself Nippon and the Germany calls itself Deutschland, India was expected to change its official name to Bharat. The Bill, which was to be passed in the Indian parliament during the winter or special session, has not, to the best of our knowledge, been presented yet. This means that India’s official name is still India, not Bharat. But our readers voted this the Word of the Year – a close second.

And the third highest votes went to a word that we needed a lot of in 2023.

Resilience got the third highest score.
