Supply of Indian manufactured vaccines to neighbouring and key partner countries

New Delhi, Jan 22: We all know that the vaccination program for COVID-19 has started in India and many people are getting vaccinated daily. India started supplying vaccines to neighboring countries Bangladesh and Nepal from 20th January 2021 under grant assistance.

grant is one of the ways the government funds ideas and projects to provide public services and stimulate the economy.

India is planning to supply the vaccine to Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Maldives, Myanmar, Seychelles, and Mauritius as well.

Prior to the delivery of the vaccines, a training program which explained different aspects of administering the vaccine was conducted. In the first batch, nearly 150,000 doses of the Covishield vaccine, manufactured by the Serum Institute of India (SII), reached the Bhutanese capital of Thimphu, while another consignment of 100,000 doses were sent to Maldives on Wednesday.
