Mr. Abdalla Hamdock, the Prime Minister of Sudan has resigned. He has mentioned that a roundtable discussion is needed to come to an agreement about the future of Sudan.
The issue of Sudan is similar to the issue in Myanmar – the military wants to take charge of the state.
Mr. Hamdock had just taken charge in November. However, by December 27th, 2021, he had announced his intention to resign. The resignation was officially made on Sunday night (January 2nd night, 2022).
The military has been using force against protestors who are asking for a civilian government. Mr. Hamdock resigned as a result of this.
He announced his resignation during a televised speech. (A speech that is also broadcast on the television).
