Today is the birth anniversary of Subhash Chandra Bose – one of India’s legendary freedom fighters.
He was also called Netaji.
The armed force that he led was a pioneer – not only was it the first organised armed resistance against the British – with international support, but it was also the first Indian military unit to give full combat duties to both men and women – The Rani Jhansi Regiment.
