20km Asian Race-Walking Championship

Nomi, Japan, 26th March 2023:

Akashdeep Singh of India won the gold medal. This is India’s second gold medal in this sport. The first was won by Gurmeet Singh in 2016.

Priyanka Goswami of India won the bronze for the country. Lan Gao of China won the gold medal in this event.

Vikash Singh and Paramjeet Bisht clocked a time faster than 1:20:10 minutes (1 hour, 20 minutes, and 10 seconds). This was the qualifying time for Olympics 2024. This means that both these athletes have qualified for Olympics 2024.

Weightlifting World Youth Championships

Albania, March 25 – April 1:

India’s L. Dhanush won the bronze in the men’s 49 kg category (overall), silver in the 49 kg men’s Snatch, bronze in the Clean and Jerk.

Jyosna Shabar won the bronze in the women’s 40 kg category, silver in the 40 kg women’s Snatch.

This is just the first leg of the competition!

Shooting: ISSF World Cup

Bhopal (India), 20-27 March, 2023:

India is currently second in the medals tally with one gold, one silver, and five bronze medals. China tops the tally with eight gold, two silver, and two bronze medals.

Sarabjot Singh won the gold in the 10 m pistol event (men).

Manu Bhaker won the bronze in the 25 m air pistol (women).

Rhythm Sangwan and Varun Tomar won the 10 m air pistol mixed team. Varun Tomar also won the bronze in the men’s 10 m air pistol.

Sift Kaur Samra won the bronze in the 50 m rifle (women)

Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil won the bronze in the men’s 10 m air rifle.

Badminton: Swiss Open

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have won the men’s doubles event at the Swiss Open today.

They are the first Indian shuttlers ever to win the men’s doubles event at the Swiss Open.
