Tokyo, July 30: Here is the list of India’s wins and losses on day seven at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Boxing: Lovlina Borgohai won against World No.2 Nien-Chin 4-1 in the quarterfinals of the Women’s 69 kg. This means that India is assured of another medal, at least a bronze, in the Olympics. She became the third Indian boxer to win a medal at the Olympics after Vijender Singh and Mary Kom. Simranjit Kaur lost 0-5 to Seesondee in Women’s 60 kg in the Round of 16.

Badminton: In the Women’s Singles Quarterfinals, PV Sindhu won 2-0 against Akane Yamaguchi in straight sets. She won the first game comfortably with 21-13. In the second game Sindhu was up to 14-8, but Yamaguchi came back, and the game was even at 20- 20. Sindhu won 22-20. In the semifinals she will play against Tai Tzu-Ying on 31st July.

Hockey: In the Women’s Group Game, India won 1-0 against Ireland. To go through to the quarter finals, India has to win its next match against South Africa. In the Men’s Group Game, India won against Japan 5-2. Harmanpreet Singh, Shamser Singh and Nilikanta Sharma scored goals for India.

Sailing: In the Men’s Laser Race, Vishnu Saravanan finished third in race 9 and fifteenth in race 10. In the Men’s 49er Race 7, 8, and 9 Varun Thakkar and KC Ganapathy finished seventeenth, eleventh and sixteenth in the respective races. In the Women’s Laser Radial Race 9 and 10, Nethra Kumanan finished 37th and 38th.

Archery: In the Women’s Individual Quarterfinals, Deepika Kumari lost against Korea’s San An in straight sets 0-6.

Athletics: In the Men’s Steeplechase 3000m, Avinash Sable finished seventh. He bettered his national record but didn’t qualify for the finals. Additionaly, MP Jabir and Dutee Chand failed to reach the finals in the Men’s 400m Hurdles and Women’s 100. India finished eighth in 4X 400m Mixed Relay, not enough to qualify for the finals.

Shooting: In the 25m Women Pistol Rapid qualification, Manu Bhaker finished fifteenth and Rahi Sarnobat finished 32nd. None of them qualified further.

Equestrian: In the Eventing Dressage individual event after two sessions, Fouaad Mirza is ranked seventh.

Golf: Anirban Lahiri was even-par after sixteen holes in round two which was suspended because of a thunderstorm. He was tied twentieth at that time. Udayan Mane shot 2-under 69 and is tied 57th.
