Sports News: Tokyo Summer Paralympics 2020

Tokyo, Sep 4: Here’s an update of India’s performance on Day 11 of the Tokyo Paralympics 2020. It was a significant day, as India clinches 4 more medals at the Tokyo Paralympics bringing the medal tally up to 17 medals. India is now at the 26th position!

> Shooting:

In the Mixed 50m Pistol, India’s Manish Narwal won the gold medal. Another Indian
shooter Singhraj Adhana won the silver medal while Russian Sergey Malyshev got the
bronze.

> Badminton:

In the finals of Men’s Singles SL3, Indian athlete Pramod Bhagat won the gold medal.
British Daniel Bethell and Indian Manoj Sarkar won the silver and bronze medals
respectively.

Indian athletes Tarun Dhillon and Suhas L Yathiraj, in the semifinals of Men’s Singles
SL4 finished second in their respective groups.

India’s Krishna Nagar won the match against Britain’s Krysten Coombs in the semifinals
of Men’s singles SH6. He would be next playing against Hong Kong’s Chu Man-kai in
the gold medal match.

India’s Pramod Bhagat and Palak Kohli lost 0-2 to Indonesian players Leani Ratri Oktila
and Hary Susanto in the semifinals of mixed doubles SL3-SU5.

> Javelin Throw:
In the men’s javelin throw, India’s Navdeep just missed the medal, and finished 4th.
