Chennai, Aug 12: The first edition of the Covelong Classic National Surf and SUP (stand-up paddling) Championship 2021 was held in Kovalam, Chennai on August 9-11, 2021. More than 50 surfers from across the country participated in the event.
In the Men’s Open category, D Manikandan won the title. In the Women’s Open category, Shristhi Selvam emerged as the winner. Goa’s Sugar Shanti Banarse got the second place. In the Men’s Stand up Paddle (SUP) Open category, P Sekar was the winner. In the Under 16 category, the title went to D Srikanth.
The event was organised by Surfing Federation of India (SFI), Quest Academy, and Surf Turf.
