Men’s Singles: Pramod Bhagat, World No. 1 badminton player in his category, beat compatriot (fellow Indian) Manoj Sarkar 21-10, 23-21, 21-9 in his SL3 Group A match. Pramod has been the world champion thrice.
Mixed Doubles: Pramod Bhagat and Palak Kohli lost a closely fought match to World No. 2 pair – Lucas Mazur and Faustine Noel of France. France won the first set 21-9, India came back to win 21-15, and the third match was a closely contested 21-19.
Women’s Singles: Palak Kohli of India lost her women’s singles SU5 category match to world no. 1, Ayako Suzuki of Japan.
