Manchester City played against Manchester United for the Football Association Challenge 2023 Final Cup (FA Cup) at the Wembley Stadium, UK.
Manchester City took the win 2-1, scoring their first goal within 13 seconds of the match. Manchester United followed soon after, scoring a goal at the 33rd minute of the match, during a penalty awarded to them. During the second half of the game, Manchester City scored their winning goal at the 51st minute of the match.
Both goals of the winning team were scored by İlkay Gündoğan, the captain of Manchester City, whereas Manchester United’s goal was scored by Bruno Fernandes.
This being their 7th win, Manchester City has played in 11 FA Final Cups prior to this, winning 6 and losing 5. However, this match marks their first ever FA final against Manchester United.
