Europe, Jul 16: In the prestigious Euro League Football, in today’s matches, Wales won against Turkey 2-0. Aaron Ramsey and Connor Roberts got the two goals for the team. Russia beat Finland 1- 0.
Earlier, France won against Germany 1-0. Portugal beat Hungary 3-0. With this match, footballer Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 760th goal and became the leading goal scorer officially in the history of football.
The other matches were – Spain and Sweden tied for 0 each, Slokovia beat Poland 2-1. The first and only goal for Poland was scored by Karol Linetty, while Milan Skriniar and Wojciech Szczesny scored for Slokovia. The Euro cup is a prestigious tournament held every four years since 1960. The date for the tournament was always supposed to be even, but it was postponed in 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic. The tournament was originally called the European Nations’ Cup, but the name was changed to Euro Cup in 1968. The tournament is currently being held in London.
