The Syed Modi Trophy, 2022, brought the first wins to badminton players this year.
The final results are:
Women’s Singles: Top Seed PV Sindhu beat Malvika Bansod (World no. 84) in straight sets 21-13, 21-16, in a simple 35 minute match.
Mixed Doubles: Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto beat T H Nagendra Babu and Srivedya Gurazada (21-16, 21-12).
Men’s Singles: Declared No Match because one of the players tested Covid Positive.
Women’s Doubles: 8th seed Anna Ching Yik Cheong and Teoh Mei Xing (Malaysia) beat 7th seed Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand (India) by 21-12, 21-13.
Men’s Doubles: 8th seed Man Wei Chong and Kai Wun Tee(Malaysia) beat 6th seed Krishna Prasad Garaga and Vishnuvardhan Goud (India) by 21-18, 21-15.
