Melbourne, Feb 9: Rafael Nadal defeated Serbia’s Laslo Djere 6-3 6-4 6-1, and Daniil Medvedev won the match against Canada’s Vasek Pospisil 6-2 6-2 6-4, to reach the second round of the Australian Open Tennis Championship in Melbourne.
In another match, world number one Ashleigh Barty defeated Montenegro’s Danka Kovinic, 6-0 6-0, to advance to the second round. This is called a ‘double bagel’ in Tennis when a player wins two consecutive sets 6-0.
