The Asian Archery Championship 2021 was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 13th-19th
November.
Here’s a glimpse of India’s performance throughout the championships.
Compound Individual Events
India’s Abhishek Verma settled for a silver medal as he was defeated by Korea’s Kim Jong Ho (149-148) in the finals of the men’s compound individual. India’s Jyothi Surekha Vennam bagged the gold medal after defeating Korea’s Oh Yoohyun by 146-145 in the
finals of the women’s compound individual.
Compound Team Events
In the bronze medal match of men’s compound team, India’s Aman Saini, Abhishek Verma, and
Rishabh Yadav defeated Bangladesh’s Mohammad Ashikuzzaman, Nawaz Ahmed Rakib, and
Mohammad Sohel Rana by 235-223.
In the compound mixed team, India got a silver medal as Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Rishabh Yadav were defeated by Korea’s Choi Yonghee and Kim Yunhee by 155-154.
Recurve Team Events
Korea’s Lee Seungyun, Kim Pil-Joong, and Han Woo Tack defeated India’s Pravin Jadhav, Parth
Salunkhe, and Kapil by 6-2 in the finals of the men’s recurve team.
The Indian trio of Ankita Bhakat, Ridhi Phor, and Madhu Vedwan received the silver medal in the women’s recurve team finals as Ryoo Su Jung, Oh Yejin, and Lim Haejin defeated them by 6-0.
In the mixed recurve team bronze medal event, the duo of Ankita Bhakat and Kapil defeated the Uzbekistan duo of Abdusattorova Ziyodakhon and Amirkhan Sadikov by 6-0 to win the medal.
