Guatemala City, May 3: Indian archers bagged three gold, one silver, and one bronze medal at the Archery World Cup Stage 1, held at Guatemala City. Atanu Das (Recurve men) and Deepika Kumari (Recurve women) won gold medals. The third gold was won by the women’s recurve team. The bronze medal was won by the men’s recurve team. India also won a silver in the mixed recurve event (an event in which the team has both male and female participants).
Recurve is a type of bow that is used in international archery competitions. It is the only type used in the Olympic games. The Indian contingent had eight players – Deepika Kumari, Ankita Bhakat, Madhu Vedwan, Komalika Bari, Tarundeep Rai, Pravin Jadhav, Atanu Das, and Dhiraj Bommadevara.
