The Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar Awards are given annually by the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITy).
The awards carry a cash prize of 5 lakh rupees and a citation. A researcher must have at least five years of research experience in their core field to qualify. These are India’s foremost scientific research awards.
