Seed-like new small Chameleon species Found

Munich, Feb 7: Researchers from Germany, while on an expedition in Madagascar, were astonished to see a very small, tiny, seed-like chameleon. While analysing the species, they found that it was a new variety (a species not yet identified by humans). The entire body can fit on a fingertip.

The length was just 22 mm (0.86 inches). It was a male. The species has been named Brookesia nana. However, the female was larger in size, about 29 mm. It feeds on small insects like mites and springtails. It hides from predators at night in blades of grass.
