Delhi, Jan 27: Portugal held its presidential elections in the middle of a lockdown because of the Coronavirus pandemic. The voter turnout was 39.49%. Most people decided to stay home and not participate in the voting. 99% of the votes have now been counted and the existing president – Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, has been successfully re-elected, having secured 60.7% of the total votes.
Postal and other remote voting is not allowed in Portugal.
