India’s Pankaj Advani has dominated not one but two international sports for as long as we can remember.
Pankaj started his winning streak with the IBSF (International Billiards and Snooker Federation) World Snooker Championship in 2003. He was 18 years old at the time.
The International Billiards Championship win came in 2005.
Since then, he has won 27 international titles, the most recent two being this week.
This week, at the IBSF World Championships being held at Doha, Qatar, he won the IBSF World Billiards Champion (Long Format) and the IBSF 150 up World Billiards Champion. For the latter, he defeated another Indian, Saurabh Kothari.
In spite of being the world champion, he participated in the selections in August 2023 and emerged as India’s no. 1 player.
Pankaj Advani will now be seen in the National Snooker and Billiards competition in Chennai, to be held in December 2023.
