Boxing-Manish Kaushik crashed out in his Maiden Olympics in the first round against Great Britain’s Luke McCormack. Vikas Krishan was knocked out after losing in the men’s welterweight (between light and middle weight) category.
Hockey- Indian Men’s Team lost to Australia, 1-7, in the Pool A match. It will now play against Spain on 27th. India’s Women’s Team faced and lost to Germany on 26th. They will face Japan on 27th.
Skateboarding- Nishiya Momiji, 13, of Japan won the Women’s Street event and became the youngest Gold Medallists in Olympic history. Brazil’s Rayssa Leal and Japan’s Funa Nakayama took the silver and bronze respectively.
Tennis- Sania Mirza and Ankita Raina crashed out of the Women’s Doubles Event after losing to Ukrainian Liudmyla and Nadiia Kichenok in the first round.
Sumit Nagal, the only Indian Men’s Tennis Player in the Tokyo Olympics was knocked out after losing his Singles Second Round Match to World Number 2, Daniil Mendelev of Russia.
Skeet Shooting- World Record Holder Angad Vir Singh finished 18th in the qualifying round while Mairaj Ahmad Khan finished 25th. They both failed to qualify for the finals.
Table Tennis- World Number 29 Sharath Kamal defeated Portugal’s Tiago Apolonia in the second round of the Men’s Single event. Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty lost their Group A Men’s Doubles match against Indonesia’s Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamulijo in straight games. They managed to maintain their second position on the group points table. They will play against Great Britain’s Ben Lande and Sean Vendy.
Sathiyan Gnanasekaran crashed out of his Maiden Olympics after losing to Hong Kong’s Siu Hang Lam.
Manika Batra lost in the Women’s Singles Third Round to Austria’s Sofia Polcanova in straight games. She is no longer a participant in the Tokyo Olympics.
Winning in the Women Single’s Singles Round 1 against Linda Bergström of Sweden, Sutirtha Mukherjee moved on to Round 2 of her maiden Olympics against Chinese-born Portuguese player Fu Yu but lost the match in straight games. She is now out of the Olympics.
Swimming- Australia’s team of Bronte Campbell, Meg Harris, Emma McKeon, and Cate Campbell won the Women’s 4*100m freestyle Relay after finishing in 3:29:69. They broke the previous record, also set by Australia, by 0.36 seconds. Canada won the silver medal. Australian Swimmer Ariarne Titmus won the Gold in the Women’s 400m freestyle after defeating 5-time Olympic Winner Katie Ledecky of America.
Archery- The Indian trio of Atanu Das, Tarundeep Rai and Pravin Jadhav lost to South Korea’s Kim Je Deok, Oh Jin-Hyek and Kim Woojin in the quarter finals. They had defeated the Kazakhstan trio of Denis Gankin, Ilfat Abdullin and Sanzhar Mussayev, 6-2, in the Round of 16.
South Korea’s Women’s team, led by An San, won their 9th straight Gold Medal in the Olympics. An San had broken the Shooting Points Record set at the 1996 Atlanta Games by 3 points in the Women’s Individual Qualification event.
