The Government of India replaced the National Bravery Awards with Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar in 2018. Now, these awards are given for multiple accomplishments, not just bravery.
Like all major government awards, nominations can be made by any member of the public and the awards are decided based on merit.
The Rashtriya Bal Puraskars winners are announced every year on December 26th, which marks the Veer Balak Divas. They are handed out around Republic Day each year.
Nominations are open for next year’s awards.
If you are, or know, a child who might be eligible, please do nominate them for the award.

| Eligibility i.) A Child who is an Indian Citizen and residing in India and is above the age of (+5) years and not exceeding 18 years (as on 31st August of respective year). ii.) Indian Citizens, residing in India. |
| Decoration i. Medal, ii. Cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/-, iii. Certificate and citation. |
