NIRF Rankings of Indian Educational Institutions

The Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, released the NIRF rankings for educational institutions in India today.

NIRF stands for National Institute Ranking Framework.

How are these rankings calculated?

Before we read about any ranking, we need to understand how it was calculated.

According to the guidelines released by the Ministry, this ranking format started in 2017.

This study measures 5 main parameters and several sub parameters under that.

All parameters are not equal. The parameters used for this ranking, with their weightage, are:

All institutions that are either state funded or have more than 1000 students were given an overall rank, and there were discipline ranks for individual discipline institutions.

How was the data collected?

Institutions submitted their own data. They were also required to make this submission public on their own websites and keep this submitted data there for 3 years.
