Since 1975, Nikon (a company that produces cameras, lenses, and several other related products), has been awarding photomicrography – a form of photography that combines the power of the microscope with the power of the photography lens.
In 2011, the Small World in Motion section was added to the contest – to award movies or digital time-lapse photography taken through the microscope.
The winners of both were announced recently.
The Small World in Motion prizes were announced in September while the Small World in Photography prizes were announced on October 11.
