The West Bank, Mar 19: Dead Sea Scrolls, religious manuscripts that included tens of thousands of parchment and papyrus fragments, were discovered in the 1950s by archaeologists in caves near Qumran, in the West Bank near the Dead Sea.
Recently, a new set of Dead Sea Scrolls dating back almost 2,000 years have been discovered in the Judean Desert. The scrolls have ancient Biblical texts on them.

Additionally, 6,000-year-old skeleton of a partially mummified child and a 10,500 year-old basket have been uncovered. Israeli authorities said that the basket might be the oldest in the world. When a CT scan was done researchers found that the child’s age was between six and twelve yeaes. The skin, tendons and hair were partially preserved in the mummy.
