New Delhi, July 8: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has come up with a new assessment pattern for the academic year 2021-22 for classes 10 and 12.
- The academic session is to be divided into two terms with approximately 50% of the syllabus in each term.
- The syllabus for the board examination will be rationalised (reduced).
- The board will make efforts so that internal assessment, practical, and project works aregiven more credibility and validity.
- First term examination will be held in November-December 2021. It’s duration will be of 90minutes and consists of MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions). The questions will be from the50% syllabus, based on case studies, assertion, and reasoning.
- Second term examinations will be held in March-April 2022 at the centers fixed by the board.The paper will be two hours long. It will have questions in different formats (case-based/ situation based, open ended, short answer/ long answer). In case, situation does not support for a descriptive examination, then a 90 minute test will be conducted in respective schools.Guidelines for internal assessment for all subjects will be released along with the rationalized term wise divided syllabus for the session 2021-22.
