NASA’s Perseverance Rover Drills Rock in the Mars

USA, Sep 4: NASA’s Perseverance Rover has successfully drilled its first rock on Mars. The rover is sent to collect rock
samples that will be eventually brought to earth for further study. The aim of Mars Perseverance Mission is to search
for signs of ancient microbial life on Mars. As per data received on September 1st from the Perseverance rover, an intact rock sample has been collected by drilling a Mars rock. The rover used its rotary drill and a hollow drilling bit at the end of its robotic arm to extract the sample. The sample collected was slightly thicker than a pencil in the sample tube.
