Katihar, Sep 6: Nothing, not even floods can slow these teachers and students down. Kundan Kumar Saha, Pankaj Kumar, and Ravindra Mandal, teachers of the Manihari area in Katihar district, Bihar have adopted a unique method of conducting classes on boats as most of the schools of this area have been submerged under water for more than 6 months. Once around 20 students board the boat, the boat is tied to a tree to start the class. The students are a diverse group from primary school to high school pupils. They are taught mathematics, physics, chemistry, Hindi, English, etc. Teachers and the pupils row to the main boat from their homes early in the morning and return home in the afternoon.
