Microsoft has just announced an investment of billions of dollars (one billion is 1000 million or 1,000,000,000 dollars).
Today, the AI driven Bing (Bing is Microsoft’s Search Engine, like Google is Alphabet’s search engine) went from “Waitlist” to “Live”. This means that all users will now be able to use the ChatGPT capabilities of Bing.
On March 6th, 2023, Microsoft fired the entire Ethics and Society Team. This team was responsible for thinking of guidelines that ensure ethical use of Artificial Intelligence.
Microsoft still has an Office of Responsible AI (ORA), which sets rules for responsible AI through governance and public policy work.
Ethics and Society Team would have ensured that the large-scale implementation of AI in all Microsoft’s products should lead to ethical outcomes for ordinary users.
