Mumbai is at No. 48
The Global Power City Index has released the list of world’s top ‘magnetic’ cities – 2020.
London, UK has been ranked number one for the ninth consecutive year. This annual list is compiled and released by the Mori Memorial Foundation’s Institute for Urban Strategies, Tokyo.
It is based on data covering 70 parameters, including economy, research and development activity, livability, accessibility, and interviews conducted with the residents of these cities.
The prime factor used in the ranking is the ‘magnetism’, the power of these cities to attract people, enterprises, and capital, from across the world. Mumbai is the only Indian city in the list, ranked at 48.

- Tokyo
- Paris
- Singapore
- Amsterdam
- Berlin
- Seoul
- Hong Kong
- Shanghai
