Ten people are seated around a circular table. The place mats are marked #1 to #10.
#6 is seated opposite #1, #7 is seated opposite #2, and so on.
Each guest comes from a different country.
To the left of and To the right of mean the same things as they normally do in English.
Can you figure out who is seated where, and the nationality of each guest, from the clues below?
1. Ms. Besant, who is Irish, will not sit next to anyone who is British or Russian.
2. Mr. Poirot, who is Belgian, sits next to the Russian.
3. Ms. Thatcher, who is British, sits directly opposite the American.
4. Mr. Ford is seated between the Indian and the Chinese.
5. Mr. Shizo sits next to the Libyan.
6. Ms. Hu has the American to her left and the Belgian to her right.
7. Mr. Khan, who is Mongolian, is seated at #2.
8. Mr. Ali, the Libyan, is at #10, to the right of Ms. Thatcher.
9. Ms. Besant is seated directly opposite the Russian.
10. Mr. Ivan finds both his neighbours – Mr. Khan, and Mr. Poirot, to be excellent company.
11. Mr. Ford found himself taking a deep interest in the Chinese traditions of Ms. Hu, who was seated to his right.
12. The Japanese is next to Ms. Besant, who in turn is next to Mr. Raj.
