The 13-day-long Khelo India Zanksar Sports and Youth Festival, 2021, concluded on January 30th. The festival started on January 18th.
The winter festival included the Chadar trek, ice hockey, traditional archery, ice skating, snow skiing, snow biking, horse and yak riding, and ice climbing. You can see the complete list of activities here.
The Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Shri Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, was present throughout the event to encourage participants.
National Ice Hockey Championship 2021
Between Jan 16th and 22nd, the Ice Hockey Association of India hosted the National Ice Hockey Championship in Gulmarg, Kashmir.
ITBP won the gold in the men’s events. Ladakh won the silver in both men’s and women’s events. Delhi won the gold in the women’s event.
The bronze went to Indian Army in the men’s event and Himachal Pradesh in the women’s event.
In the 2020 championship also, Ladakh had emerged as the winner – taking home the gold in both events.
