Sriharikota, Nov 7: India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV Rocket), in its fifty first flight (PSLV-C49), successfully launched EOS-01 along with nine international customer satellites from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota on November 07, 2020.
PSLV Rocket-C49 took off at 1511 hours and took 15 min and 20 seconds to successfully inject EOS-01(Earth Observation Satellite) into its orbit (curved path of a spacecraft round a star, planet, or moon). Post that 9 commercial satellites from Lithuania (1), Luxembourg (4) and USA (4) were also injected into their intended orbits.
ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network took control of the satellite once, it was successfully placed in orbit and its 2 solar arrays, opened. The main use of such EOS are in agriculture, forestry and disaster management support.
