Israel Election Results: Netanyahu makes a comeback

Israel’s Central Election Commission has just announced the results of the elections held on Tuesday, November 2nd. This forms the 25th Knesset (The Israeli parliament is called Knesset).

This election saw the highest voter turnout since 2015 – as many as 71.3% of eligible voters cast their vote.

Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been the Prime Minister of Israel for more than a decade, is set to return as the Prime Minister after being in opposition for 14 months. His coalition has won 64 out of the 120 seats in the Knesset. His opponent, Yair Lapid, has conceded defeat and congratulated him on the victory.

Many other world leaders have also congratulated him on the victory.
