New Delhi, Jan 25: The Government of India announced the Padma Awardees, one of the highest civilian awards of India on Republic Day’s eve. It is conferred in 3 categories –
Padma Vibhushan – for exceptional & distinguished service, Padma Bhushan – for distinguished service of high order, and Padma Shree – for distinguished service in any field.
It is given in the field of art & culture, social service, public affairs, science & technology, medicine, literature, sports, etc. President Kovind approved the conferment of Padma Awards to 119 people.
