Wag 12B Locomotive is a horsepower electric locomotive that is the most powerful locomotive in India. It is manufactured by Madhepura Electric Locomotive Pvt. Ltd. (MELPL) which is situated in Bihar. This locomotive is developed to decongest the saturated tracks by improving the average speed and loading capacity of freight trains. WAG 12B locomotive is capable of starting and running a 6000 tons big train. Indian Railways inducted the first WAG 12B Locomotive on 18th May 2020 from Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay junction in Uttar Pradesh.
