Mathematics is not just mechanical calculations. It is a study of facts of numbers and logic, where logic is interwoven in the study of numbers.
It provides an opportunity to explore self-assessment, data processing, validation, to develop broader thinking by dealing with a variety of problems which lead to multiple solutions. The joy of discovery of this process, helps realize the powerful applications of mathematics in various other domains.
IIT Madras has launched an online program on Out of the Box Thinking, to make real the magic of mathematics for school students.
The program is absolutely free and can be taken by school students from Grades 5 to 12.
Details about the program
- The course is free and online.
- While the classes are free, students who want to take the exam and get a passing certificate need to pay a nominal fee. The assignments will also be taken online.
- Final exam will be conducted at various centers all over the country.
- A student has to pass the assessment to get the certificate.
