IIT Delhi gets two Chairs – in the fields of Microelectronics and Geotechnical Engineering

Delhi, Aug 7: IIT alumnus Mr. Saurabh Mittal from the B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering, 1995 Batch, has established two chairs as a tribute to Prof G.S. Visweswaran and Prof Manoj Datta. The “Prof G.S. Visweswaran Chair” aims to promote excellence and leadership in teaching, research, and development in the area of Microelectronics & VLSI Design and the “Prof Manoj Datta Chair” will encourage and support research in “Geotechnical & Geo-environmental Engineering”. Geotechnical Engineering is the science that understands the mechanics of soil and rock and its applications in our world. Think about foundation laying, soil analysis, and every other human activity where soil and rocks are involved.
