Himachal Pradesh Voter Turnout at 74.05%

Himachal Pradesh, which went to polls on 12th November for Assembly elections, has registered a voter turnout of 74.05% overall.

The highest turnout was in Sirmour district – 79.07%, while the lowest was in Kinnaur – 70.5%.

The Election Commission of Himachal Pradesh took to Twitter to share some very inspiring stories of voters.

Tashigang, Lahaul Spiti

Tashigang is the world’s highest polling booth. The temperature was sub-zero on November 12th, the date of polling. The booth has 52 registered voters. All 52 of them voted, making this a booth with 100% voter turnout.

Not only did the polling officers and voters come in full force, they also came dressed in full local finery.
