On 2nd March 2023, the counting of votes for the elections conducted in Tripura, Nagaland, and Meghalaya was done. The results were as follows:
Tripura
The voting turnout of the elections conducted on 17th February 2023, in Tripura, was 81%.
After the counting, it was concluded that the BJP+ (BJP and IPFT alliance in Tripura) got the highest number of seats in the Legislative Assembly, that is 33 seats, with the majority mark being 31 seats. BJP alone got 32 seats, while the IPFT got 1 seat.
The other parties were Communist Party of India with 11 seats, Tipra (the party had made its debut this year) with 13 seats, and Indian National Congress (INC) with 3 seats.
Nagaland
The assembly elections in Nagaland were held on 27th February 2023 with 85% voter turnout.
The BJP+ (BJP and NDPP alliance in Nagaland) party emerged as the majority in Nagaland, claiming 37 seats with 31 being the majority mark.
Meghalaya
The Meghalaya Legislative Assembly elections were also held on 27 February 2023. The voter turnout was 85%.
The NPEP party won the elections with 26 seats even though the majority mark was 31 seats. The United Democratic party won 11 seats. Indian National Congress won 5 while Bhartiya Janta Party won 2 seats. One seat was left uncounted.
The number of seats in the Legislative Assemblies of Tripura, Meghalaya, and Nagaland is 60 seats each.
One seat in the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly was vacant and bye elections were held for it. This seat was won by Bhartiya Janata Party.
