An earthquake struck Afghanistan on Wednesday, 22nd, June 2022.
The earthquake struck the Eastern to the South-Western region of Afghanistan.
The magnitude of the earthquake was 5.9.
The depth of the earthquake was 10 km or 6.2 miles and the epicentre was Paktika province.
The earthquake extended up till 50 km from Paktika.
Afghanistan is in a seismic zone and earthquakes are frequent here. Most of them arise from the Hindu Kush mountains. As Afghanistan is a landlocked country there is no possibility of a tsunami due to the earthquake.
